Obviously we've all been pulled in from different worlds. Or different points in time, I guess, for some of you, and I've been wondering, where is everyone else from? What's your world like? That sort of thing.

My name's Will Parry, and I've volunteered to assist in the infirmary with the rest of you. So, who else is working here, exactly?

I'm tired of talking about my world. Especially if it's such a vague question like that. It's hundreds of years after yours, I'm sure, and has not improved since then.

What's yours like? Not the technology or the people, but the culture. How it is set up? Who is in charge? What are the people like?

There are a lot of different countries, most of which are ruled by one person or a group of people. I'm from the United Kingdom, which is basically ruled by a group of officials elected by the people, led by a prime minister who's also elected by the people. What do you mean, what are the people like?

Oh, well, that doesn't sound any different than what the Previous normally say.

I'm just curious about how the people are. What they're like.

They're varied. I think people are generally happy, or at least, only frustrated with things that can be changed with work and that sort of thing. There's some poverty and suffering, but some people are working to make the world a better place, some don't care and some try to benefit from all of it.

I'm a student.

Where I'm from, most people stay in school at least until they're sixteen. Most go on to a university until they're a bit older than I am.

It's a Rule where I'm from. You attend school until you're sixteen or until you have learned everything, whichever be sooner.

We don't have...university.

How is it possible to learn everything by the time you're sixteen?

It depends on what they say "everything" is.

So, what do they make you study?

Nothing of importance. Our government, our culture, our Colours. [Bitter laugh.] Basic arithmetic, I suppose. Anything you'd need to know in order to make it through life.

No biology or anything like that?

[Looking that up.] Well, we learn about barcodes and the like. Why? What do you learn?

Maths, biology, chemistry, physics, British and world history, sometimes a foreign language. We read literature and analyze it. Once you've moved on to study at a university, you become more specialized depending on what you want your job to be. I plan on studying to be a doctor.
